Support from parents and the community is vital to the success of our children and schools. District teachers, staff, and parents work together as a team to enhance student learning both at school and at home. We also make our facilities available for community clubs, group meetings, and sporting events.
The elementary, middle and high schools in the Snoqualmie Valley School District are all supported by a Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). Each PTSA is a self-governing organization within the parameters of the state and national PTAs, and each one works within its own school. Leaders from each of our school PTSAs also comprise a Snoqualmie Valley PTSA Council. This group formed in 2007 to help facilitate communication between parents, schools and the district, as well as to share resources, ideas and training opportunities for parent leaders. You can obtain information about the Washington State PTA and the National PTA from their respective websites.
There are many opportunities for parents and community members to volunteer in our schools. Whether helping in the classroom or driving on field trips, your volunteer hours make a difference to our students. Some examples of how you might volunteer include: reading with students, tutoring after school, chaperoning dances and activities, becoming involved in PTSA, serving on building Learning Improvement Teams or District Curriculum committees, and helping with Junior Achievement and campus clean-up efforts.
